Study Visit to Callao

All grade 1 visited the submarine in Callao. It was very interesting to be inside a real submarine. We learn how does it work and how do people feel inside it.

The submarine is a mean of transportation that take us from one place to another. The difference between the other means of transportations is that we travel here UNDER THE SEA.

All Junior School went to the cinema!!

Nuestros niños se merecían un descanso una celebración ESPECIAL. Con ellos nos fuimos a celebrar el día del niño en el cine. Vimos la película: "Como Perros y Gatos 2". Fue una película entretenida y con un gran mensaje de amistad y tolerancia.

Dinosaurs

Dinosaurs are animals that lived millions of years ago. No person has ever seen a dinosaur.

But people have found dinosaur fossils. Fossils are parts and imprints of a plant or an animal that lived long ago. Some fossils are bones, teeth and footprints that have turned into rocks. Scientist study the fossils to learn about dinosaurs.

Fossils give clues about the lengths, the weight, the teeth and age of dinosaurs.

Second Study Visit

On June 25th all grade 1 students went to visit the "Museo de Historia Natural".

It was an amazing trip because we could observe our favourite animals: The Dinosaurs. Just imagine that we could see a giant triceraptor and a velociraptor. The bones were like in the real life!
We also observed the flora and fauna of the three regions of our country: Coast, Highland and Jungle.

We stayed there 2 hours having fun with the stories and looking at interesting mammals, primates, reptiles, birds, fossils, fish and minerals. We were surprised because of the fossils and the amazing balloon-fish!

It was an amazing visit! Let's take a look at this photos!

El día 02 de Junio la Fundación Mapfre llegó a nuestro Colegio a hablarle a los Bear Cubs sobre la responsabilidad vial y las señales de tránsito.

Los chicos aprendieron acerca de muchas señales de tránsito que no conocían y encontraron significado a muchas otras cosas.

Primero vimos un video acerca de: ¿Qué pasaría si el mundo no tuviera conciencia de la importancia de las señales de tránsito?

Luego fuimos al circuito preparado por la Fundación Mapfre dentro de nuestro Colegio a poner en práctica todo lo que habíamos aprendido.

GOLDEN TIME

Congratulations Bear Cubs!

You have achieved your third Golden Time. Our children have been very well this week. We have six Golden Rules in the class, if all the class (30 students) fullfill the six rules they deserve a Golden Time.

What is a Golden Time? It is a time of fun and recreation. It is like a prize. At this time the Bear Cubs choose to go to the computing class of the little ones. In this classroom the computers are colourfull!

El día de hoy miércoles 28 de abril visitó el colegio "El Super Oso". Durante su visita, dió un paseo por nuestro salón y le informó a los Bear Cubs la importancia de la buena alimentación y del consumo de vitaminas.
Los niños estuvieron muy atentos a la información :)

Al final del día todos se llevaron a casa algunos catálogos con juegos e información y además algunas muestras de vitaminas.

Our Friend: Sierra

Sierra is a girl from our school. She is a student that always visit the class to teach something new for our children.

This time, Sierra read a nice story called: "Walking through the Jungle". At the moment it is the favourite story for the Bear Cubs. They recognize the pictures and associate them with the words. They are becoming in good readers. We have to be patient!

St. George's Week Sports and Ralleys

FROM MONDAY 19TH TO SATURDAY 24TH- ST. GEORGE'S WEEK.

Four houses: "Griffin", "Pegasus", "Phoenix" and "Minotaur".
During the week exciting games were played under different categories. For example, in the Mini categorie they played: Football, Handball and Athletics. While Major and Medium categories sports were: basketball, table tennis, chess, football and volleyball. So young and old participated in sports this week.

Each house had their bars and they showed great enthusiasm, commitment and teamwork.

Finally on Saturday 24th were the expected Gymkhana. Parents and children came to the school to share a day of funny and exciting games. Parents and children gathered at the school very early to organize their bars.

The winner house was Pegasus. Congratulations Pegasus!

First Study Visit

Last Thursday 15th grade one visited the Huachipa Zoo. It was very interesting for the children. They learned a lot of things about the animals like their habitats, their needs, their feedding and their families.

Children enjoy a lot the animals. The best part of the study visit was the part of the dinosaurs. It was amazing.

They also went by train all around the zoo. They could see all the animals and the Rimac river.

At the end of the study visit they participated in a workshop called "Peaks and Teeth". They learned how do animals eat.

In this term we have learned about our human body.

The human body has many parts. Some parts are on the outside of the body. Other body parts are inside.

One of the inside body parts is the heart. It beats all the time. Each time it beats, it pumps blood through our body. Another inside body parts are the lungs. We have two lungs. When we breathe, air goes in and out of lungs.

Our world is made up of many things, some are living and others are non-living.

One one side are the living things. They grow, they adapt to their enviroment, they obtain and use energy, they reproduce, they move and breath. YOU are a living-thing, you grow and eat, you breathe and you can also adapt to your enviroment.
On the other hand are the non-living things. They can't grow, they can't breathe and they can't eat.
